In 2025, The ALLICE Collective for Mental Health & Community Engagement is proud to partner with The TwenTea Company and Black Mental Avenue to bring Dear Mama to the historic Third Ward neighborhood in Houston, TX, a community known as a “maternal mortality hotspot.”

Join us as we center Black motherhood, nurture mental and emotional well-being, and build a stronger, more connected community.

A fact sheet from the Maternal Mental Health Leadership Alliance (MMHLA) found mental health to be the leading cause of maternal death. Despite the availability of effective interventions, Black women continue to encounter significant barriers in accessing and engaging with maternal mental health services, further deepening disparities.

At Dear Mama 2025, we are committed to using community building and increasing positive social supports as key strategies to improve wellness outcomes for Black pregnant and postpartum women. Through a thoughtfully curated experience, we aim to foster healing, increase community supports and resource networks by offering:

  • Culturally relevant education

  • Empowering resources

  • Opportunities for networking

  • Deep collaboration with local Houston organizations

Please complete our request form if you offer health and wellness products or services and would like to donate raffle items, have an interest in becoming a partner, collaborator, sponsor, and/or vendor.
